What is The Court of Protection?
The Court of Protection is a specialist court for all issues relating to people who lack a capacity to make specific decisions.
The court supervises the appointment of deputies who are then in place to make decisions and administer the affairs of those who lack the capacity to do so themselves.
The court is essentially there to protect those who are at their most vulnerable and who, through their lack of capacity are unable to make a valid Power of Attorney.
